MINISTRIES

Children

Children's Ministry exists to help parents raise their children by providing tools, resources, and encouragement, as well as providing age–appropriate teaching, worship and fellowship.

On Sundays:

BABIES - Birth to Walking

Babies meet in Room C2 on Sunday mornings and Room C1 for all other events.

TODDLERS - Walking to 36 Months

Toddlers meet in Room C1, although often during warm weather they can be found enjoying the toddler playground.

BUILDING BLOCKS - 3 & 4's

The Building Blocks class meets in Room C4 although they too can often be found enjoying the playground during warm weather.

KID'S WORSHIP—8:45am

All K–5th graders gather in Room B18 for a time of corporate worship and teaching, followed by small group application and interaction. Please pick your child up at the conclusion of the service (you will check them back in for 2nd service care if needed).

SUNDAY SCHOOL—10:30am

All K–5th graders enter through Room B18 and proceed to their age appropriate classroom for our pre–session activity. We then gather together for a time of music, prayer, and announcements before returning to the classrooms for instruction and application.

If you have any questions, please contact Donna Kozovich (0–4) or Sue Beckham (K–5) at children@cbchb.org.

Prayer Topic

Dear Parents, Grandparents, Uncles, Aunts, and Teachers,

Today as I was working, I was listening to music, and the song "What a Friend We Have in Jesus" began to play. As I was listening a couple of verses really spoke to me

"What a friend we have in Jesus,

All our sins and griefs to bear!

What a privilege to carry

Everything to God in prayer!

Oh, what peace we often forfeit,

Oh, what needless pain we bear,

All because we do not carry

Everything to God in prayer!"

I begin to reflect on the truth of that statement. Christ is right there waiting for us to come to Him, and so often we don't. Maybe it's pride, maybe shame, maybe it just doesn't occur to us, whatever the reason, we are missing out on blessings and support when we don't pray. This stanza recognized and acknowledges that we miss blessing by not taking "Everything to God in prayer". Our Father allows us to come to Him and he will hear us!(Jeremiah 29:12) To me it was a reminder of what Christ has for me. The last stanza was just as touching.

Blessed Savior, Thou hast promised

Thou wilt all our burdens bear;

May we ever, Lord, be bringing

All to Thee in earnest prayer.

Soon in glory bright, unclouded,

There will be no need for prayer—

Rapture, praise, and endless worship

Will be our sweet portion there.

The last stanza encourages us that our Savior hears us and one day we will not need to pray we will be face to face with our Savior and "Rapture, praise, and endless worship Will be our sweet portion there."

It doesn't get any better than that! An eternity gazing at the face of Jesus, endlessly worshiping Him. I just want to encourage you to lift up your children and your worries for your children up to Jesus! Pray for them often in the quietness of your prayer time and aloud as you eat dinner or tuck them in at night. Teach them to pray so that they too will learn not to "needlessly bear their pain" but rather "carry everything to God in prayer!"

Your Fellow Servant of the Lord Jesus Christ,

Dawn Yasumura

Pray that the children would treasure God’s word and stand up unashamed for the truth; that they would be free from deception and the lies of the evil one, and with perseverance seek a great understanding of the word of God.
