Clemson BCM LEAD Covenant

Being a part of leadership in BCM is an honor and a privilege. Leadership is a sacred privilege and something that should not be taken lightly. At BCM, we are committed to living with moral and ethical values that are consistent with the Bible and standards appropriate for the community we live in. We expect the students who lead at BCM to live according to those values in response to God’s call for His people to live righteously.

By accepting a leadership role at BCM, I submit myself to the following covenant:

I will seek to know and serve the Lord as my first love.

I will be diligent in fulfilling all of the responsibilities entrusted to me.

These include:

1.Regularly attending BCM Thursday night services

2.Regularly attending LEAD prayer Thursdays 6pm

3.Being faithful to attend weekly discipleship meetings

4.Being actively involved in the ministry area to which I am given through prayer, time, and dedication

5. Attending the LEAD kickoff event Wednesday April 24th at 8pm

6. Attending the LEAD Retreat, on August 16-17 (Friday 4pm until Saturday 2pm)

I will live a life of celibacy outside the marriage covenant, and I will live above reproach and avoid even the appearance of immodesty in all my relationships. This includes purity in dating relationships and forbids shacking-sleeping over with the opposite sex.

I will live a life of sobriety. Realizing that my example could cause others to stumble, I will refrain from all drinking, use of tobacco and illegal drugs.

I will strive for unity in the body of BCM, refraining from gossip, and encouraging others towards love for God and each other.

I will zealously guard what I watch, read, and listen to so as to not grieve the Holy Spirit who makes me His temple.

With regard to all of the above, I will submit myself to those in authority over me (staff) and make myself accountable to them, as unto the Lord.

All BCMs come together for a leadership day called BCM1 on Saturday April 13th. We leave at 8am and return at 8pm. It's free for you. Though it's not a requirement for you to go, it's highly encouraged! It is a great day to meet other BCM leaders from around the state and get training. Please let us know if you are able to go.
