El Sobrante Christian Elementary School offers a complete academic education with a spiritual dimension complementing the teaching of both home and church. Teachers provide an environment where children feel secure, loved and respected. Students are encouraged to develop a love for learning as they develop basic skills for a lifetime of education.
Our lower elementary school provides a caring and comfortable learning environment. A full day, academic Kindergarten program is a great beginning, which is followed by a strong, phonics-based reading program in first and second grades. Young children learn pre-math and math skills through a manipulative math curriculum and computers are introduced in lower grade levels. Special events and unique field trips help make ESCS a fun place to grow and learn.
Our middle and upper elementary curriculum includes the study of California and U.S. History, the life sciences, mathematics, literature and grammar. Teaching emphasis is placed on honing basic math skills, development of good writing and speaking skills through creative writing, report writing and class speaking. Students are taught to evalute current events from a biblical perspective, and to begin to develop a Christian world-view. Students participate in a formal music program with several performances each year. A full physical education program, computer literacy and library program are also provided.
