Please read through the following descriptions and choose one position to apply for.

Connect Intern(s)- The Connect intern will be in charge of our connect ministry, and will coordinate tasks with the connect leaders. This entails printing and passing out flyers on campus on Wednesdays, welcoming people into Magnolia, and running the Connect table on Wednesday nights. This ministry connects our campus with the body of Wesley and helps those coming into our services feel at home.

Children's Intern(s)- The Children's intern will work with children who attend the after-school program at the Wray Homes Community Center. This entails organizing and facilitating events alongside the children's leaders such as a Fall Festival, Christmas Party, Valentine's Day Party, etc. You will also be in charge of planning bi-weekly meetings with the leaders to brainstorm and plan lessons for the children at Wray Homes.

Fellowship Intern(s)- Fellowship intern(s) will work with the Fellowship leaders to plan our monthly Fellowship events (ex. Skate Night, Open Mic Night, Camping Trips, etc.) They also will work in planning special yearly events, such as the Ice Cream Social and Fall Fest. Fellowship interns will also be in charge of hosting Hospitality each week after our Wesley service. This includes creating a welcoming environment at the Wesley house and preparing food to serve. The goal of the Fellowship Ministry is to help foster community amongst the students at Wesley as well as being an avenue through which we can reach out to the Georgia College campus.

Freshley Intern(s) – Freshley intern(s) will organize and shepherd the Freshley ministry, a ministry directed specifically towards Freshmen. Freshley aims to share the love and good news of Jesus with incoming freshmen by welcoming and helping them adjust to life as a college student. Your responsibilities include directing/leading a weekly service on Monday nights, as well as several freshman-focused fellowship events through out the school year. Your opportunities as an intern will range from discipleship to teaching to prayer to event planning depending on your strengths and desires. You will meet regularly with your Freshmen Leaders for planning/training for Freshley functions.

Media Intern(s)-The media intern will work closely with the Media Coordinator in being the voice for GC Wesley. This includes designing graphics for our ministry areas + sermon series', taking pictures of Wesley services and events, and creating content for our social media. They will also brainstorm and execute giveaways and weekly videos.

Men's Ministry Intern(s) - The Men's Ministry intern will organize & continue to help build the Men's ministry. The goal of the Men's Ministry is to foster a community of Men on the Georgia College Campus that want to help each other grow, keep each other accountable, & have fun. You will plan events specifically for the men of Wesley & Georgia College.

Prayer Intern(s) – As the Prayer intern, your responsibilities will be planning/leading our Prayer Meetings on Monday and Tuesday mornings at 10am, as well as planning and leading leadership prayer before our Wednesday night service at 6:30pm. You will meet regularly with your prayer leaders, and foster a culture of prayer within the ministry of Wesley.

Production Intern(s)- The Production intern will work closely with the Associate Director and the production leaders in setting up Magnolia for our weekly Wednesday night service and/or the Depot for our Freshley service.Your responsibilities as an intern include loading up at the Wesley House, setting up at Magnolia, and then packing up & taking equipment back to the Wesley House after the service. Tasks include setting up chairs, lights, slides, tableclothes, coffee, connection table, etc. If you are organized and love to make things happen behind the scenes, this is the job for you!

Women's Ministry Intern(s) - The Women's Ministry intern will organize events for the women of Wesley and of Georgia College, such as workshops, retreats, and fun events. The aim of the Women's Ministry is to develop a community of women for the Georgia College Campus that loves each other, grows together, & that fosters long lasting relationships. The Women's Ministry intern will plan events designed specifically for the women of Georgia College.

Worship Intern(s)- The Wesley worship intern will be over the Monday and Wednesday night worship- this includes scheduling people for the services, working to organize the order of the services, and leading rehearsals. Your responsiblity will also include loading the truck/trailer Wednesday afternoon, setting up in Magnolia and the Depot, tearing down after the services, & working alongside the Director.

Youth Ministry Intern(s)- The Youth Ministry partners with Milledgeville First United Methodist’s youth program. Leaders in this area will work directly with Tate and Ashley Welling in ministering to middle and high schoolers in our community. Responsibilities include attending and assisting with weekly Sunday afternoon youth events from 4:00-6:00, building relationships with local teenagers, and working with Ashley to tailor a leadership role you desire. Those with a heart for youth and/or a desire to enter into full time ministry post college would be a perfect fit!

Other - If there is an intern position that you believe would be helpful for Wesley that does not currently exist, we would love to know about it. Below you will be given the opportunity to describe what ministry area you are interested in- please describe in as much detail as possible what the role would look like and the mission behind the particular area of ministry.

As a part of the internship program, you will be discipled individually. Additionally, you will be required to disciple students leaders in a group. The following questions will assist us in placing you with student leaders.

As a part of the internship program at the Georgia College Wesley Foundation, you will be expected to follow an Internship Covenant. Please read through the covenant and be prepared to discuss any concerns or questions related to the covenant in your Internship Interview. Please don't hestiate to discuss the covenant with us.

Georgia College Wesley Foundation Intern Covenant

Being a part of leadership in the Body of Christ is a sacred privilege and something that should not be taken lightly. As an Intern, you are placed in the position of a pastor and elder here at Wesley. The Bible has clear criteria for deacons and overseers (see 1 Timothy 3:1-13 and Titus 1:5-11). At Wesley, we are committed to following these Biblical standards to the highest degree. The following covenant states clearly the moral and ethical values in which we expect you as an Intern to abide by:

By accepting the role of Intern at Wesley, I submit myself to the following covenant:

I will seek to know and serve the Lord as my first love.

I will be diligent in fulfiling all of the responsibilities entrusted to me. These include:

  • Faithfully attending and participating in the weekly Intern meeting
  • Attending prayer Leadership & Wednesday night services each week
  • Adhering to the requirements of my specific ministry area
  • Accepting the responsibility of being see as a leader at Wesley
  • Respond to the leadership given to me by the directors
  • I will conciously give myself to be an encourager of the other Interns in order to help build and maintain a unified and loving community.

    I will live a life of celiabacy outside of the marriage covenant, and I will live above reproach and avoid even the appearance of immodesty in all my relationships. This includes purity in dating relationships and forbids sleeping over with the opposite sex.

    I will live a life of sobriety. If under 21, I will adhere to the law and not drink at all. Realizing that my example could cause others to stumble, I will refrain from all drinking in public settings - bars, parties, etc. - in Milledgeville, and I will carefully consider the costs when choosing to partake of alcohol outside of Milledgeville.

    I will be above reproach in the way that I both conduct myself and represent myself (and Wesley) through various social media outlets - Facebook, Snapchat, Text Messaging, Instagram, Twitter, etc.

    I will zealously guard what I watch, read, and listen to so as to not grieve the Holy Spirit who makes me His temple.

    With regard to all of the above, I will submit to those in authority over me (directors) and make myself accountable to them, as unto the Lord, throughout the entirety of my Internship.

    I understand that I am making a committment for the entire 2019-2020 school year.

    Mandatory Intern Training will be August 14-16, 2019.

    Mandatory Leadership Training will be August 17, 2019.
