Israel 2012 & 2014

Learning is an important part of our journey of faith. In 2008, 2010 and 2012 we headed off to Israel to learn first-hand about the land of the Bible. More than a trip, it's a study tour through Jerusalem University College with plenty of homework and preparation. But it all pays off when we're walking in the places where Jesus walked. We're planning to go again in from March 24 to April 6, 2014, contact the church office for more information.

"On our recent trip to Israel, there were many “God sightings”. Some were unobtrusive, such as sitting in a boat in the middle of the Sea of Galilee in total calm. It was as if Jesus had calmed the waves and quieted the winds in another miracle. Others were grand, like hearing the bells ring and the organ roar during a pre-dawn mass in the Church of the Holy Sepulchre while running hand over the stone that is reported to be the one where Jesus’ body laid in the tomb. But perhaps the most memorable for me was the coming together of people from a variety of places and backgrounds, who joined together in faith became a chain of friends whose shared experiences will connect us for a lifetime. Who knows what plan God had for bringing this group together, but it is clear that his work with us is not yet over. And seeing God work in the lives of ordinary people going about their ordinary lives is the best God sighting of all!"
