MCBI general manager
I became a follower of Christ in the fall of 1970. God intercepted my life out of the “hippy culture”. I committed my life to Christ in Ventura, California while watching a Billy Graham crusade on television. I then moved back to the Fargo-Moorhead area where I got involved with a “Jesus People” Bible study and it was there that I met the young woman who became my wife. Darilynn and I have been married for over 43 years. We have three children and five grandchildren.
The Lord directed me to go back to school in 1979 and I attended Brown Institute/College and studied broadcasting. It was not until 2001, twenty years later, that I left secular radio work and started working in Christian media.
Before moving to Minnesota I managed The Light Radio Network in New England for over 12 years.
My wife and I are glad to be back in Minnesota living closer to most of our family and are thankful that the Lord opened the door for me to work at The Word and The Pulse.
Amy grew up in Wyoming, MN and graduated from Forest Lake High School. She was saved when she was 6 and dedicated her life to Christ at Camp Jim when she was in the 9th grade. She believes the many opportunities God has put in her path including mission trips, serving in church and the variety of jobs she has held have led her to serving in the ministry here at MCBI.
Amy married Wes in 2004 at Pequot Lakes Baptist where they still attend today. They enjoy their blended family of 8 and 3 beautiful grand children. They have a great time in the outdoors; camping, fishing and hunting. Amy is a scrapbooker, likes gardening and enjoys playing a variety of instruments. She is looking forward to being a part of this ministry for many years to come.
Program Director for the Word

Phil became a Christian at special meetings in his church as a 4th grader. He and Val are members of Timberwood Church in Nisswa
Randy was blessed to have been born and raised in a Christian home in Roseville, Minnesota, a suburb of St. Paul. He attended Southeastern Bible College in Lakeland, Florida, and Brown Institute for Broadcasting in Minneapolis in preparation for radio ministry.
In August of 1983, Randy started working at Christian radio station KCMI-FM in Scottsbluff, Nebraska, and then moved on to KCFB-FM in St. Cloud in August of 1987. This was before KCFB became an MCBI affiliated station. After being laid off in the tough economy of 1991, Randy spent eight years working as a sheriff's dispatcher in Wright County, Minnesota before returning to Christian radio in March of 1999 here at MCBI. Randy has worn a variety of hats during his years at MCBI. Currently he is the News Director, Public Service Director, and is host of the weekend music program "Sonshine Saturday".
Randy has been married to Kristine since 1983, and they have attended Crosslake Christian Assembly of God for many years. They have two grown daughters -- Stephanie lives in St. Cloud and Valerie resides in the Twin Cities. After the Lord and his family, Randy's passions include studying and teaching the Bible, and sports with hockey and football his favorites.
Lori Schroeder has been the receptionist at MCBI since January 2nd of 2003. She also works with the accounting and community calendar. Lori grew up in Bloomer, Wisconsin and continues to cheer for the Packers. She graduated from Bloomer High School and the University of Wisconsin in Superior with a Bachelors of Fine Arts Degree in Drama and a Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work. She has worked as an activity director at a nursing home in Superior, an insurance agent in Breezy Point, a receptionist at a computer retail store in Brainerd and at a day care center in Nisswa.
Lori began her personal relationship with Christ when she was a sophomore in college as a result of reading Paul Little’s book “Know Why You Believe” and attending Inter-Varsity Christian Fellowship meetings. She currently attends Eagle’s Nest Baptist Church in Breezy Point with her husband Bob and their 4 year old son, Jacob. Bob & Lori were married in June of 2004 after dating 11 years. Lori enjoys playing with her son, fishing & camping. Her favorite programs on KTIG include Focus on the Family and Family Life Today.
Aaron is a farmer's son from River Falls, Wisconsin where he grew up among the cows and the chickens. He grew up in a Christian home, but it wasn't until his teenage years attending Lake Beauty Bible Camp in Little Falls, MN that his faith really became his own. He attended Northwestern College in Roseville, MN, graduating in 2008 with a degree in Radio Broadcasting. Starting while he was a student, Aaron worked for KTIS as a Network Operator and assistant in the Engineering department. It was here that he learned Radio Engineering suited him just fine. Rather than being the voice on the radio, Aaron now makes sure that voice gets out to the transmitter and into our listener's lives. He feels very blessed to be able to use his technical know-how in the ministry of The Word and The Pulse.
Shortly before moving to the Brainerd Lakes area in the autumn of 2008, Aaron met a girl named Heather at Northwestern College. She was from Pequot Lakes, and would spend time with Aaron when she came home for school breaks. Something must have clicked, because they have been married since April of 2010.
