Church Life
Minster@ThomasCourt
Since Easter 2014 a group of people from Minster have been taking a brief service at Thomas Court on the last Sunday of every month. Thomas Court is an assisted living residential community for elderly people situated in Marlborough Rd, approximately half a mile from our church at Minster. Many of the residents at Thomas Court were regular church-goers at an earlier stage of their lives, but it is not so easy for them to attend church regularly now that they are more advanced in age and living at Thomas Court. So the services that we hold in the lounge at Thomas Court are very much appreciated and enjoyed by these elderly folk.
On the last Sunday of each month about 15 - 20 residents regularly join with us to sing hymns and praise the Lord, and a short gospel talk is given by one of our leaders. The residents who regularly attend these services have become part of our congregation at Minster, and some of them have come to our Community Lunches and other events held at Minster.
These services are held at 7.45 pm on the last Sunday of each month. Colin Towler is the organiser of this ministry, and if anyone from Minster would like to be part of the group that goes to Thomas Court to take one of these services, he or she should let Colin Towler know that they will be coming.
Please pray regularly for the Thomas Court ministry, that God will use these services to encourage the residents at Thomas Court in their knowledge and worship of The Lord, as all this is done for His glory.
