Leadership
Lead Pastor
Scotty Neasbitt is blessed to work with a great team of people living in & around Torrington who are focused on nurturing a healthy church for the glory of God among the people of northwest Connecticut. Having received his BA in Psychology & a Master of Theology degree, and with a background as a communications manager in industries as diverse as banking, retail, & training/development, Pastor Scotty has been called to lead this church in following Christ & leading others to Him alongside NHCC's Elders & members.
Associate Pastor
Mike Ambrose served as pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church in Torrington for 25 years before that congregation joined with NHCC in 2015. Before coming to Connecticut, he served two churches in Illinois. He holds a BA in Biblical and Theological Studies and a MA in Religious Education. Pastor Mike enjoys working with Pastor Scotty and the elders and members of NHCC, especially in ministries of discipleship, congregational care and missions. He and his wife Betsy have 4 grown children and 12 grandchildren.
Elders
Northwest Hills Community Church is a church that is protected, corrected, & directed by servant leaders called Elders. The broad goal in devising NHCC's church governance structure has been to reflect a Biblical leadership structure that will serve the church at 20 people or 2000 people, while remaining obedient to Scripture, wise & purposeful in practice, and generous in spirit.
The specific goal has been to select Biblically-qualified men who are characterized by their servant-leadership and who demonstrate the Fruit of the Spirit. As a result, an extensive process involving prayerful evaluation, Biblical study, and congregational input has been put into practice as we continue to grow and develop an elder board to serve NHCC today and in the future.
Currently, our elder board consists of five elders: Mike Ambrose, Mike Clark, Duane Doot, Bill Lutton, & Scotty Neasbitt.
