SERMON (A) - Confidence

Supernatural

6/18/17

Description:There are few things more daunting than a major renovation, and there are few things more exciting and gratifying than completing it and enjoying the new & revised space. God is planning the renovation that will end all renovations. Don’t miss the highly figurative language here, nor the exhilaration of the declaration “It is done!” (21:6). There is space for all, and every need is met. “These words are trustworthy and true.” In this is an invitation to trust the Father who makes no mistakes in His professionally managed and executed DIY project.

Supernatural

5/21/17

Description:This Sunday we’re going to consider why the Gospel (the Good News) is really, really, really good news! We’re in Revelation 15 & 16. Dr. Paul Spilsbury, professor at Regent College Vancouver writes, “As the last book of the bible it has a special significance: it is a kind of climax or grand finale to the biblical story. No one likes to abandon an epic just a few pages before the end. Knowing how it all turns out is vital for our understanding of the book as a whole.”

Description:The Book of Revelation is full of imagery and fascinating ‘creatures’…and the Supernatural realm comes to life through these pages! We’ll be exploring Revelation 14 and asking questions like, Who is the Lamb? What does it mean to follow the Lamb. What is ‘Supernatural Worship?’

Snapshots of our Saviour

4/9/17

Description:Several days before Jesus’ trial, execution and then glorious resurrection, He entered Jerusalem to the cheers and adulation of many, and the alarm of others. The gospel writers have each afforded us their perspective on what took place, and you and I are invited into the account and add our perspective on OUR encounter with this man Jesus. What has encountering Jesus done in your life? This Sunday we’re going to consider those around the triumphal entry of Jesus, and invite one another into the narrative. I want to invite you to come and stand on the Mount of Olives with me as we enter into what the Christian church has called “Holy Week” …the week that led to the events that changed everything! If you’d like to read the text in advance, we will be in Matthew 20:1-22. I hope to see you at either the 9 am or 11 am service this Sunday!
