Who We Are

In October 1997 Glenn Herschberger felt called by God to go into full-time ministry. This calling led him and his family (wife Sue, and three children) to Lake Mills and in October 1999, a home fellowship group began meeting which eventually led to a core leadership group forming, which led to worship services in thier garage ,which led to the the fall of 2000 launch and what we know now as Real Hope.

In the fall of 2000, the first public worship service was held at the Lake Mills High School in the auditorium where we continue to meet today. We recently purchased 13 acres of land on the east end of town and hope to build a ministry facility in the future.

In 2005 Real Hope hired on its second full-time pastor in Craig Legel. Little did we know that God had a grand plan in all of that. In the summer of 2010, Pastor Glenn and Sue were called to International Church Planting in Panama, and Craig beame the new Lead Pastor for the beginning of a new decade of ministry here in Lake Mills.

After 10 years, we have continued to grow into a church that is committed to loving God, loving people, and serving the world around us. It is our prayer that we will continue to reach out into this community (and surrounding communities) and touch the lives of people with a message of hope and salvation through Jesus Christ.
