Children's

General Children's Ministry: We provide faith experiences for infants, toddlers, and elementary level children up to and including 5th grade. Our goal is to allow the kids to discover God’s love and find out that the God of the universe wants to have a relationship with them! By the time your child enters into junior high, we hope to have created an anchor to Jesus in their hearts that will keep them stable and strong through the rough waters of the Pre-teen years! Our programming is age appropriate and includes fun, hands on experience and learning styles that appeal to children.

Nursery: The Nursery is a warm and caring environment for children new born to 3 years of age. Each of our two Nurseries ministers to a specific age group with appropriate developmental toys and activities. The infant room is available for babies newborn through 22 months old. The toddler room has a theme every month regarding the Church, God or the Bible. There are educational toys, story time and snacks (peanut /tree nut free environment). A “Parent Page” is also available to take home for further play regarding the theme of the month. In Nursery, children learn that God loves them and we do too! Safety is highest priority in Nursery. All Nursery care workers are trained and background checked for your peace of mind.

Preschool/Kindergarten Sunday School: Preschool/Kindergarten is an active place! Spending time together singing and moving starts their learning off. FUN is the key to a child’s heart, and FUN is what they get. Bible lessons include hands on experiences that bring the Bible to life including puppets and other dramatic toys and tools. They will also get time in a smaller group to discuss their own lives and concerns and questions with teachers who are loving and kind. Connecting children to their friends, teachers, and most importantly God is our ultimate goal!

Elementary Sunday School: Starting off with all elementary kids together in large group brings energy and fun to the learning experience. During Large Group time, kids participate in high energy worship music and learn how God’s Word applies to them. Then they break up into small groups according to age. During this small group time, kids are challenged to explore how they can take God’s Word and start living it every day. We have a dynamic team of adult leaders who enjoy skits and creatively teaching God’s Word so that kids enjoy it!

Sonbeam Choir: For children ages 3 (must be 3 by Sept. 1st) through Kindergarten. We practice most Wednesdays from 6:15p.m.- 6:45p.m., Sept.- May in the Sarah Room. Rehearsals include; 1) 5 minute Bible story, 2) practicing a variety of songs, and 3) rhythm activity. Activities vary each week but are age appropriate and focus on the Lord. We generally sing 1 time per month from Sept.- May at one of the worship services (Sat., 5:30p.m., Sun. 9:00 a.m., or Sun. 11:00 a.m.). St. Michael Puppeteers: We are excited to announce the new ministry of the St. Michael Puppeteers! They are a group of 5th-8th graders who want to communicate Bible Stories and the Love of Jesus through the unique personalities of Puppets! Originally, a small group of 7th graders were doing a puppet team to fulfill a requirement for confirmation class. But it turned out to be so well received and so fun they just kept going and they have added to their numbers. These are kids who have never work with puppets before but God has blessed them and they are running with it! Children as well as adults are laughing and enjoying the puppet skits we have performed and we say PRAISE GOD! Take a moment to check out the website link the kids have created for their puppet team and watch video 1 or video 2 of their performances. And may God bless you today !

Family Time at Home: Here’s a fun Family Game that is super easy to play. You will need a few Oreo cookies, Scrabble tiles, a hand-drawn baseball diamond. Have your child reach into the bag of Scrabble tiles and draw out 5. If your child can make a 2-letter word from them, there Oreo moves to First Base. A 3-letter word is a double, a 4-letter word is a triple and of course if they can make a word with all five tiles that is a Homerun! If they can't make at least a 2 letter word, that is an out, and they draw five new tiles. Choose new tiles for each ‘at bat”. After three outs, it is the next persons turn. Decide how many runs need to be scored to end the game. And of course at the end of the game everyone gets to eat their base runner with a nice cold glass of milk.
