  • GROW children, cultivating the soul of tomorrow’s citizens—creating new opportunity for adult personal growth.
  • SPARK the imagination of children; exciting their spirits, creating a hunger for growth—
  • Nurturing children today, to be loving citizens tomorrow.

    About

Rainbow Tribe uses a fresh multidimensional structure of rotating workshops, forming children in “The Way of Love.” It is inclusive of all children regardless of learning style. We repeat the same Bible story weekly over an average of six weeks. Each week the workshop activity uses a different subject: art, cooking, drama, games, music, science, or video’s.

    The model in action

During a Science Workshop about Jesus walking on water the Facilitator presented an orange saying: “I wonder how this or-ange is connected to the story?” They en-gaged children in an experiment aimed at determining if the orange will sink or float with its peel on and with its peel off. Children discovered that the orange floated with its peel intact and sank when it was removed. In the lesson the peel was made analogous to Peter’s faith when he kept his eyes on Jesus as Peter walked on water, and when Peter took his eyes from Jesus, looking at the swirling waters, started to sink. To close, the children were led in a discussion about the troubled waters in their own lives. Months later, Chen came to Rainbow Tribe celebrating, “I kept my peel on!”
