Baptisms

Your child is a miracle of God created for a holy purpose. Baptism declares that your child belongs to God and is united to all of God’s saving activity through time culminating in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

The sacrament of baptism is far more than the celebration of this precious gift from God who is your child (e.g. the christening of a boat). It is nothing less than the celebration of his or her entrance into the kingdom of God. For more on the profound meaning of baptism, see http://gamc.pcusa.org/ministries/worship/sacraments-baptism/.

If you are interested in having your child baptized, one of the pastors would love to talk to you. Children in elementary school are baptized upon the confession of faith of their parents or guardian, one of which needs to be a member of the church. The date of the baptism is arranged with the pastor on a Sunday that works for the church and the family. Baptisms occur after an orientation time with the pastor and approval of the Session.
