YOUTH MINISTRY NEWS

STICKY FAITH

The Youth Ministry Team at Trinity is in the process of experimenting with a new model of youth ministry called "Sticky Faith." The three shifts involved in this model are:

  • From a behavior-based gospel to a grace-based gospel
  • Faith is not a list of behaviors or do's and don'ts that determine how much God will likes us. We aim to help students develop an understanding of the gospel that integrates faith into all of life and sees Jesus as bigger than any mistake

  • From a segregated ministry to an integrated ministry
  • Intergenerational worship and relationships are linked with faith that sticks. We are striving to find ways to come around one table as a faith family. This does not mean an end to youth ministry, but that each student would ideally be surrounded by many adults who come alongside to support and walk with them.

  • From "dry-cleaner" parenting to ministry partnership
  • Parents are called to nurture faith in the family, not outsource their kids' spiritual development to the church and its leadership. We are imagining new ways to partner with parents so they are empowered and equipped in faith formation.

    WORSHIP ARTS

Trinity uses creative and performance arts of all kinds to honor and praise God in worship. Middle and High School students are welcomed and encouraged to participate in drama, dance, visual art, band and other special music. If you have a gift that you would like us to know about and a desire to share it, please contact Kristan Verveniotis, Worship Coordinator at kverv@trinity-pres.org or 593-8226.

    WEEKLY OPPORTUNITIES

    for Middle and High School

PHISH PHOOD | Middle School Sunday Morning

Middle School students (grades 5th-8th) will start in worship and then be excused to the Phish Tank (youth room) where Grapple is the name of the game! We’ll explore tough questions and come up with the Bible’s smartest answers. Through community building, games, prayers and dares the kids will ask questions about faith, choices and relationships. They’ll learn how to search the Bible for answers and build a faith they can own.

ROUNDTABLE | High School Sunday Morning

We are excited to be able to offer a Bible study for 9th-12th graders on the 2nd and 3rd Sundays of each month. Students will start in worship and then be excused to class in the children and youth office. Our leaders will create a safe place to ask questions and be in God's Word.

High School students travel to Mexico with Amor Ministries to build houses for the poor. This is an amazing time of community building while being the hands and feet of Jesus. Stay tuned for more information. Questions: Contact Scott McMullin at mcmullin.scott@gmail.com
