Care & Counseling
Medical Ministry
I was sick and your took care of me." Matthew 25:36
St. Clement's Medical Ministry seeks to provide not only prayer and spiritual support, but practical day to day information that will be helpful to those families dealing with a life-threatening illness, severe injuries from an accident, or the onset of debilitating aging issues. As many of us have faced these issues in our congregation, our support is based on the needs we have discovered during our caring ministry, such as:
1. Help with finding information on your particular medical issue. (eg. American Cancer Society brochure "After the Diagnosis").
2. Pet and house sitting resources for those who must travel out of town for treatment, both short and long term.
3. Caring for the caregiver or caregivers.
4. Utilizing the help offered by family and friends.
5. Emotional support from parishioners who have faced a life threatening crisis.
6. Provide suggestions for dealing with financial stress.
7. Resources for "after care" issues.
8. Recommendations for a church home for those receiving care in Houston.
MINISTRY MISSION: To share the love of Jesus Christ through ministry and helping hands support to patients and their families in our parish family, and to those who may be seeking a church home while they are receiving medical care in El Paso. The ministry encompasses the following:
But You O Lord are a shield around me, my glory, and the one who lifts up my head. I cry aloud to the Lord, and He answers me from His holy hill. I lie down and sleep; I wake again for the Lord sustains me. Psalm 3: 3-5
