about Vertical

"The Core" represents the core values of Vertical Church. We believe having values helps us remain aligned and focused in our desire to point those who are far from God to life in Jesus. While they are not for every church, these values help make Vertical Church unique.

1. We never outgrow Jesus.

Jesus is the center of our lives, both individually and corporately. Our job is to life Him up; His job is to draw people to Himself. We never grow beyond our need for Jesus Christ.

2. You can't do life alone.

While Sundays are important, church is not a service but people who come together to live life in community. Relationships with other followers of Jesus help us continue taking our next steps in Him.

3. Saved people serve people.

God's church is not built on the gifts and talents of a few, but the sacrifical service of many. The church ismost effective when the body ministers to the body.

4. God is writing a story.

We stand in a long line of changed lives who have taken part in the endless conversation between God and humanity. Change brought about by the grace of God should be celebrated and shared.

5. God gave first.

We recognize that everything we have is due to God's generosity. All our activity is a response to God's initiative. In living generous lives, we are seeking to imitate God's character.

6. Everyone is a missionary.

We are God's plan for growing His church, investing relationally in those around us and inviting them to a place where they can meet Jesus. We are tellers of good news.
