At Vertical, volunteering isn’t what we want from you, it’s what we want for you... not what you have to do, but what you get to do. It’s simple. If you have an interest, you can count on us to help you find your ideal spot. To fill out an application online, click here.
To volunteer with a team simply:
- Choose a team that interests you. There are several choices below.
- Request a First Experience by filling out the form attached below.
Once you’ve chosen a team that interests you, you will be scheduled for your First Experience as a volunteer, basically the opportunity to shadow someone on the team. The First Experience is designed to assist you in finding your volunteering “sweet spot”.
Volunteer Commitment
At Vertical, once you've completed your First Experience, you'll be given the opportunity to continue in that role, or choose something else that may fit better. Once you decide on a volunteer spot, we ask you that commit to that team for an initial period of three months. Once you’ve volunteered in a role for three months, you may continue in that role, try something different, or take a break from volunteering. Most of our volunteer teams are on a bi-weekly or monthly rotation. Your commitment will be based on your specific team.
At Vertical Church, our teams are organized into five main areas:
Administration
If you enjoy behind-the-scenes roles, this is the perfect fit for you. All administration opportunities are during the week, helping with administrative tasks and projects as they arise.
Portable Church
This team assists in the weekend operation of our campus, and ensure the campus is running smoothly. If you want to help create environments to help others experience God on Sunday morning, then the portable church team is for you! We meet at 7am on Sunday morning to set up all of our kids, lobby and auditorium areas. Tear down is just like set up, only in reverse. Volunteers stick around for a few minutes after our experience is over to pack up our equipment.
vC kids
If you are passionate about seeing future generations filled with life in Christ, then vC kids is just the place for you! We have an awesome kids' ministry that has a variety of opportunites for people to serve. Roles range from behind-the-scenes to interacting directly with children and teaching them about Jesus. From babies and crawlers to elementary, there's a spot just for you.
VIP
If you love people, VIP is the place to be. As a VIP member, you have the opportunity to greet attenders, help people find seats, or welcome first time guests at our VIP area. As a member of the VIP team, you have a unique opportunity to impact nearly every person who walks into Vertical Church. You often serve as the face of Vertical Church, so smiles are a must!
Production
If you like the thought of having hands-on responsibilities, Production is what you're looking for. Production volunteers help create a smooth-running worship experience through sound, video and lighing. Production offers both technical and non-technical opportunities. So if you have a gifted ear for sound, some technical skills, or a willingness to work behind-the-scenes, then this is the spot for you. No experience is necessary. Training is provided.
