Missions

Local Missions

We support both local and global missions that benefit individuals, families, the elderly, the sick, children, and youth. As a church, we donate time, resources, and money to these projects. Approximately one-fourth of the total church budget is allocated to support missions.

We provide financial assistance to several local groups that help the poor, the homeless, at-risk youth, college students, prisoners, and those afflicted with HIV/AIDS. Examples of supported groups include Habitat for Humanity, Kualoa-Heeia Ecumenical Project, Susannah Wesley Community Center, The First Life After Prison (1st LAP) Ministry, Hale Kipa (Waikiki Youth Outreach), Strength for the Journey, and the Wesley Foundation at the University of Hawaii.

Aiea UMC Feeding Ministry is very active. We have long supported the Institute for Human Services (IHS) by procuring, preparing, and serving meals to the homeless once a month. The church also partners with St. Elizabeth Catholic Church and operates the Good Samaritian Food Pantry one week each month. AUMC also provides back to school supplies and monthly food bags to Aiea Elementary School students at risk.

We support with prayers and actions our own military members who are separated from their families or deployed in harm's way.
