Tom Choi
Senior Pastor
The Rev. Dr. Tom Choi began his ministry with Aiea UMC on July 1, 2015, after serving 5 years as the Hawaii District Superintendent of the UMC. Prior to that, he was the pastor of the Kailua UMC for 12 years. Before coming to Hawaii, he pastored churches in the Los Angeles area. He loves good food, movies, sports, and how life connects to faith. Born and raised in Los Angeles, he received a B.A. in American and Classical history from Pomona College, recieved his Masters of Divnity from the Yale University Divinty School, and Doctor of Ministry from the Wesley Theological Seminary in preaching for the 21st Century. He is married to Becky, and they have twin daughters, Marina and Sierra.
Joseph Siofele
Associate Pastor
Pastor Joe has been our Samoan language pastor for over a decade. His gentle spirit & abiding faith makes him a natural leader. Joe and his wife Su'e have 4 children & 4 grandchildren.
Claire is an accomplished composer, conductor, and musician. She is passionate and enthusiastic about creating inspirational and meaningful music. Her innovative method of directing our choir includes using a website that includes audio files that allow singers to practice at home to enhance the learning of music: aumcchoir.org.
Karen Carlisle
Bell Choir Director
Karen has rung handbells for more than 30 years and directed youth and adult handbell choirs for over 12 years. She is an accomplished solo ringer and a clinician for handbells, doing maintenance work for numerous choirs. She graduated from the University of Hawaii with a bachelor's degree in psychology. Karen has lived in Hawaii since 1995. She's married to Dan, and has two lovely young children.

Sandi is our administrative assistant. She grew up in the Wahiawa United Methodist Church and also works as a geriatric specialist for the Kaiser Group. She is married to her husband, Mark, and they have a daughter, Sara.
