David Scott

Pastor

David was born and raised in the Seattle area, where he grew up attending North Seattle Alliance Church. David attended Biola University and Trinity Western University. He graduated a BA in Biblical Studies and a minor in history. He earned his MA in Biblical Studies (RTS Orlando) and his MDiv at Westminster Theological Seminary in California. David and his wife Sara have four children: Elizabeth, Rebecca, Hannah, and Samuel. In 2001, David was ordained at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Issaquah where he served as associate pastor before coming on staff at Faith Presbyterian Church in 2007, in preparation for the planting of RPC.

Mark Hayter

Elder

Mark is originally from Idaho, moved to Oregon for high school, and graduated from Oregon State University with a degree in geology. As a college sophomore, Mark encountered Jesus, and God's call captured and changed his heart. Mark has served at several college campuses starting and leading campus ministries. Since 1993 he has been working in the medical device industry, along the way earning an MBA from Concordia University in Portland. Mark and his wife Sonja have three adult children and two grandchildren, and have been attending RPC since 2010.

Doug King

Elder

Doug is a native of Central Pennsylvania, but has lived in the Northwest now for over thirty years. He came to faith in Christ in high school, then came to a reformed understanding while in medical school and attending Tenth Presbyterian Church in Philadelphia. The Kings are founding members of Resurrection Presbyterian Church. In fact, in 2007 the church had its organization meeting and first few months of services in their house. Doug is a surgeon at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. He and Margie have three adult sons. His life experience can be condensed to “the LORD is righteous in all his ways and kind in all His works”(Ps 147:17).

Dale Rogers

Elder (and Clerk of Session)

Dale is a native of Washington State and has traveled extensively as a pilot in the Navy. He started attending a Reformed Presbyterian Church in San Diego prior to attending Faith Presbyterian Church for almost 20 years. He and his wife Marci, daughter Lindsay (son-in-law Josh) and Sarah, have been attending Resurrection Presbyterian Church since its inception.

Troy Wisdom

Elder

Troy has been an Elder at Resurrection since its particularization in 2009. Troy and his wife Diane have 3 adult children and 5 grandchildren. Troy is self-employed as a General Contractor and also serves as the teaching leader in the Tacoma Men’s Bible Study Fellowship Class, an inter-denominational, para-church ministry serving 300 men and 50 children in the Tacoma area. Troy’s passion is to eradicate Biblical poverty that too frequently describes those in and outside the church.

Jose Claudio

Deacon


Steve Huff

Deacon

Steve grew up in rural New Jersey and attended a Presbyterian Church. He made a profession of faith when he was 12 and Romans 5:1 played a big part in that. Since college he has lived in Phoenix, AZ; Beijing, China and now resides in Puyallup, WA. Steve was widowed in 2005 and has been raising his 3 kids, Breanna, Andrew and Courtney.

Michael Lee

Deacon (and Chairman of Diaconate)

Michael Lee was elected as one of the original deacons at Resurrection and the treasurer. Michael and his wife, Diana met at a bereavement group of young widows and widowers. They have five children; Sarah, Rebekah, Joshua, Chris, and Andrew and eleven grandchildren. Michael teaches 4th grade in the public schools and teaches Sunday School for RPC. He is continually amazed at God's grace in his life.

Jim Paige

Deacon

Erik Eklund

Music Director

Erik was raised in Lakewood, WA, were he began playing piano for worship at a local Catholic church. In 2012, he graduated from Warner Pacific College in Portland, where he received his BS in Business Administration and was the school’s primary pianist for the jazz band and jazz choir. Erik now attends Western Seminary in Portland via distance and online learning. He intends to receive his MA in Biblical and Theological Studies, and hopes to one day receive his doctorate and to publish. Erik and his girlfriend, Sarah Rogers, have been attending Resurrection Presbyterian since 2012.
