Ministries

Missions

St. Paul's Missions helps those around the world, as well as locally and nationwide. Specific ministries supported by St. Paul's as Mission of the Month include:

  • Ysleta Lutheran Mission: This mission in El Paso, Texas conducts outreach through education and evangelism, and its human care initiative provides relief to impoverished communities in the border region.
  • Rev. Alexey Shepelev, Moscow Russia: Located in Moscow, Pastor Shepelev provides mission outreach to the Jewish communities also in Norway, Finland, Lithuania, and Belarus.
  • Apple of His Eye/Chai v'Shalom: This mission's primary focus is to share the message of the Gospel with Jewish people.
  • Ministry to Armed Forces: More than 200 military chaplains are supported by this ministry throught the world.
  • Rev. David & Lois Mahsman: They are missionaries in Eurasia (Europe and the former Soviet Union). They facilitate the work of other missionaries and are developing a new ministry in Wittenberg, Germany.
  • Rev. Mark Eisold and Family: This ministry began in 2011 and leads an LCMS team with the goal of starting churches and establishing a new national Lutheran church in Peru.
  • Christian Friends of New Americans: This outreach ministry in St. Louis helps immigrants and refugees meet their daily needs (e.g., obtaining household goods, learning computer skills) as well as sharing the Gospel message.
  • Santo Angelo Orphanage in Brazil: This orphanage provides a home for children that were abandoned by their families.
  • Rev. Carlos & Lidia Winterle: Headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, the Winterles are in the initial phases of establishing new missions in Angola and Mozambique. The Winterles have previously served in Brazil and Kenya.
  • Tyler McMiller: A new St. Paul's member and a Spanish speaker, he serves as a Missionary assisting an LCMS pastor providing doctrinal education to local Lutheran pastors at the seminary in Mexico City, with the goal of expanding this program to ministers throughout Mexico.
  • Seminary for Foreign Leaders: Concordia Seminary’s “Adopt a Foreign Student” program supports the ministry in Africa by equipping leaders to train pastors in their own countries.
